A true moving work of art, the BMW R17 was first introduced in 1935 at the Berlin Motor Show. It was the first BMW to have a four-speed gearbox. Less than 450 were produced over a two year period and they are highly sought after today. At 2,040 Reichsmarks, it was the most expensive German motorcycle of its time.

The chalky, runny, ultra-matte look of this piece was inspired by the Porsche 550 Spyder’s period past. Most 550’s were raced by privateers who would drive to the race track, race another, drive home. Their race numbers crudely hand written were scrawled in runny house paint on the car’s sides. This painting comes ready to hang with a protective varnish and wire hanging.

This is some solid rust! Dripping rust colors combine with the lighter colors of this 1954 Porsche to create a soothing and very rust-filled painting! Layers of acrylic paint, textured sand, and painting on the sides lend to an amazing degree of depth on this piece!
